When I was a kid my father owned a auto salvage yard in Newtonville,
NJ on route 54 (near Buena).
Helping him around the yard I had access to many different automotive
parts.
It's only logical that one of my first pieces were JUNK YARD
DOGS.

The "JUNK YARD DOG" is a potpourri of parts... leaf springs
for the ribs, a scissor-jack for the stomach,
rocker arms and ball bearings for the eyes , and teeth from a roadside
grass cutter.
Sometimes I'll use machine parts, when they're suitable.
The dog's legs are from a machine called a 'ditchwitch' that digs trenches.
